Behold
BEHOLD
A little boy stood beneath the stars, lifting his head to see
Creation's glorious splendour and manifest beauty
How God crafted the heavens and the earth so gracefully
Standing in absolute awe, that little boy was me
"Jermaine, nobody can fully understand, we can only behold"
That was the bedtime story my mum every night told
But I grew up and saw reality cold
Subconsciously for the world's knowledge, my innocence I sold
I came to that place where all wondered what they lived for
And couldn't find my answer, even knowledge can't know all
Never knew this was all I had, thought I'd understood more
At that point I realised and my eyes clearly saw
One thats walking in the flesh can never understand
That life in Christ is simply trusting His mighty Hand
In times of sadness and loneliness great, we look to God, not man
Believing He has the best for us, a incomprehensible plan
So mum was right all along, we can only in awe behold
And put our faith in the Almighty One, and see His plans unfold
Believe without cynicism, standing in adversity bold
Hoping and dreaming for God's promises
And all the Bible told
