Giant
I turn and look in retrospect at a long and sad year
The way I had lost myself crying in a sea full of tears
How the waves pounded and my heart started to fear
Amidst the chaos and confusion, I forgot that You were near
Walking steadily on the waters. Training me, like You still are
Watching over my every move, calling my name from afar
Across the raging sea of tears, I saw Your arms outstretched
"Abandon ship and walk, Jermaine. If you sink, I'm here to catch"
Glanced upon the rushing sea, the waves crashing into my boat
My vessel was filled with water and it struggled to hold its load
I had to make a decision fast, my path or the Lord's to take
Knowing if I stepped outside, my life and plans were at stake
Winds blew harder, waters rose, the rain poured rapidly
Time wasn't giving any favors, and I clung tight for safety
Closed my eyes. "I trust You Lord! Your way, it'll be!"
Plucked up all the courage I had and threw myself at sea
Opened my eyes. Your hands in mine. There was calmness in the sea. That was when I realised:
I released the GIANT in me.
