Stories

Tell the story of sweetness turned sour
Of warm, to tepid to cold
A story just like any Shakespearean tale
For it ended in tragedy and woe

Tell the story of a broken man’s spirit
Soaked in the rain of his tears
And the blood that his heart bled profusely
For hurts were the weapons that pierced

Tell the story of mistakes made
Of a series that tore apart two
One went on with life as per normal
The other down with rebuilding to do

Tell the story of unforgiveness deep
Transcended through the passage of time
No good memories left to keep
Bad ones like unerasable signs

Then tell the story of a blood stained brow
He took the fall for humanity
The blood that covered all the stories above
The man fought for you and for me

Lashes he took all on his back
And beatings, thorns on his head
On he dragged the object for his death
The price for our stories he paid

So if anyone has a story to tell
It’s been nullified by one old cross
Two planks of wood to which were nailed
The stories of the saved and the lost

The greatest story told
