Unscalable Wall
Eyes fixed, liquid gaze, staring at the ceiling light
Counting down, five more days before my next trip’s flight
Waterlogged luminosity fades from an initial bright
Distant day dims dreamily into an endless night
Silvery memories, they keep knocking in my mind’s back door
Rooted feelings, they're still here, thought they weren’t anymore
Soul stares in despondent silence at our now unscalable wall
All on my outside seems in peace, my insides thick in war
Imminent enlistment lying at the corner of the road
Freedom’s journey ends and a restricted one unfolds
Bilateral relations continue to remain this dreary cold
No warmth to embrace, nor a smile on your face
only frost and ice left to hold
after all this time
the despondent silence
still reigns
