Rope of Blind Hope
Once, twice, thrice, never suffices
Tugging at one end of the rope
Sore blistered hands, multiple loose ends
Still I carry this blind hope
It never works out, like a connection drought
For most of them I don't really feel
But for those whom feelings do bloom
Someone already beat me to the kill
Patched up heart, once torn apart
Smoked to life this once dead soul
Friends abound, they're all around
Yet solitude takes its toll
I take this vow, tonight and now
If someone comes along and I know
That she also holds the other end of the rope
Then I'll never let it go
Tugging at one end of the rope
Sore blistered hands, multiple loose ends
Still I carry this blind hope
It never works out, like a connection drought
For most of them I don't really feel
But for those whom feelings do bloom
Someone already beat me to the kill
Patched up heart, once torn apart
Smoked to life this once dead soul
Friends abound, they're all around
Yet solitude takes its toll
I take this vow, tonight and now
If someone comes along and I know
That she also holds the other end of the rope
Then I'll never let it go
